The Comunidade de Basílio (The Community of St Basil) is a community of prayer and worship at Christ Church Rio. The community offers the opportunity to give a year of your life to grow in the areas of prayer, service and learning.
Basil of Caeserea
Saint Basil the Great (330-379) was one of the founders of the christian church. He was an influential theologian, a central figure in the development of the monastic life of prayer and was well known for his care of the poor.

Non-Brazilians will need a religious visa which we can advise you on. There is no charge but all applicants will have to raise some funds to cover your basic costs.

You will join the daily prayer life of the church, prayer nights and Sunday services. There will be opportunities to serve and be trained in ministries as well as a programme of theological and ministry training.
